Questions? For more information regarding the 2008 SUMMA conference, please contact our coordinators at OverviewEvery year, SUMMA hosts the largest minority premedical conference on the west coast, typically drawing 400-600 attendees each year. Our conference focuses on increasing the numbers of underrepresented minorities in medicine. The next SUMMA conference will be held on Saturday, February 9th 2008 at Stanford University School of Medicine. To see pictures and videos from last year's conference click here! HousingFree housing will be guaranteed to SUMMA participants requesting housing before January 11, 2008 only for the night prior to the conference. Free housing will be provided in the study lounges of on-campus Stanford Housing. Students will have to bring their own sleeping bags and other sleeping materials to camp out on the floor of the study lounges. Due to the high demand, housing requests will only be accepted until January 25, 2008. Anyone requesting housing after January 11, 2008 will not be guaranteed housing. Housing spots will be awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis. All students who requested housing will receive an email requesting confirmation. Students must respond to this email to confirm their housing spot by January 25, 2008 or they will lose their spot. High school students cannot register online and are not eligible for housing. Since you will be camping out in the lobbies of the Stanford Dorms, please bring your own sleeping bags, blankets, pillows, toiletries, etc since we can not afford to provide those items for you. We do not offer bedding, or breakfast. If you prefer more comfortable arrangements, we suggest that you reserve a room at a local hotel. For a more detailed housing information document, click here. RegistrationThe registration fee will be $15 for those who register online before January 11th, 2008, and $20 if you register after this date. This fee includes breakfast, lunch, and the SUMMA booklet and it does not constitute a profit for SUMMA. We encourage all students to register for the conference before the closing date of January 25th, 2008, as there is NO walk-in registration on the day of the conference. There is a maximum capacity of 550 participants so register early. Due to strict space limitations, high school participation is by invitation only.
